Glad to be joining the Medical Technologies Congress, TIPTEKNO’22, as a chair/speaker on the Biomaterials session.  It was wonderful to meet with our previous dean, Prof. Dr. Aydın Akan, from the İzmir University of Economics. Master student Gülşah Sunal, whom I have been mentoring since the beginning of her academic studies, successfully presented her first talk titled ‘Biomimetic peptide-conjugated membranes for developing an artificial cornea’. 

We have been longing for on-site congresses because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to our biomedical engineering students and research assistants for making this congress fruitful and enjoyable.
