New Research Article from MetLab and PNCALab on Sustainable Dye Removal, September 11, 2025
A research article titled “Xanthan gum-based Magnosorbent: A selective, rapid, and high-capacity adsorbent for pH-tolerant methylene blue removal from complex pollutant systems” has been published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, presenting an eco-friendly and high-performance solution for wastewater treatment.
The study introduces a magnetically retrievable, biopolymer-based nanocomposite that enables rapid, selective, and pH-resilient removal of methylene blue, even in complex multi-pollutant systems. With fast adsorption kinetics, high capacity, magnetic recoverability, and excellent reusability, the developed Magnosorbent demonstrates strong potential for scalable industrial wastewater remediation.
This work is a collaborative output of MetLab and PNCALab. We sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Ülkü Metin and her outstanding bachelor students for their dedication, creativity, and significant scientific contribution to this study.
