Özlem Kap obtained B.Sc. degree in both the physics and chemistry departments, and in 2012 the M.Sc. degree in physics from Ege University. She received the Ph.D. degree in the department of Material Science and Engineering in 2018 from Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey. Afterwards, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Izmir Kâtip Celebi University, Turkey. Her research interests include scanning probe microscopy-based techniques to study the structural, binding, and electronic properties of organic thin-layers on surfaces as well as the fabrication of nanostructures for energy storage, wastewater treatment and biosensing applications. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Physics of Complex Fluids Group at the University of Twente.
